Is the F1 photo different from the photo on my I-20?

The I-20 (issued by your university) doesn't require a photo. The photo you need for the F1 visa is the one uploaded to your DS-160 form when you apply at the U.S. embassy or consulate.

Do I need a printed photo for the F1 interview?

What about F2 dependents (spouse, children)?
